About the Project

The Greater Washington Board of Trade website was outdated in terms of structure and content. The organization wanted a new website that would be easy to maintain, easy for visitors to use, visually pleasing, informative, safe and secure, and quick to load and operate. Balance Interactive helped the Board of Trade accomplish all of these goals and more with a redesign project that deployed the DotNetNuke content management system.

Innovative Web Strategy

Balance Interactive developed a customized web strategy that targeted the goals of the Board of Trade, the needs of key audiences and current best practices in online communication. The strategy defined specific techniques that could be used to attract new members though a value proposition. It also focused on delivering value to current members and increasing event registration and participation.

Visual Design that Translates the Brand

The Balance Interactive design team listened to the Board of Trade’s needs and combined those with a deep understanding of the brand to develop a design for the new website. The result is a look and feel that supports this high-end organization and a strong visual appeal. Colors were selected to compliment the organization logo. The photos selected show the vibrancy of the organization and its events.

Content Strategy and Usability

Balance Interactive developed a content strategy for the Board of Trade that would ensure that the new website addresses the needs of core audiences. Specific strategies were outlined and used to make sure the site content was focused on user needs. The Balance Interactive content team wrote and edited content for key user pages. The result is a website that is easy to read and navigate.

Content Management with DotNetNuke

The DotNetNuke content management system was employed. This solution was compatible with the organization’s existing technologies. It also offered a solution that makes it easy for site administrators to use and maintain. Several enhancement modules were selected and deployed to maximize the functionality and flexibility of the site. Board of trade staff were provided with a customized user manual that enables them to have complete control over site content maintenance.
