About the Project

The International Youth Foundation (IYF), based in Baltimore, MD, works in more than 70 countries and territories to improve the conditions and prospects for young people where they live, learn, work and play. When the organization needed to plan for web-based technology to support its efforts into the future, IYF partnered with Balance Interactive.

IYF needed a consultant to review the organizational websites as well as intranet and extranet needs; to assess needs against the strategic priorities of the organization and web strategy; and to offer recommendations on web platform and design. Balance Interactive worked with the IYF team to assess all current web-based efforts and to project future needs.

Technology Roadmap

Balance Interactive produced a technology roadmap with recommendations for the technology approach and investments that would position IYF for growth and continued service to youth and volunteers worldwide. The plan positions IYF to:

• Increase efficiency in daily operations
• Manage the budget and spend money more effectively
• Build an online community and boost fundraising efforts
• Give members and partners more confidence in the organization

RFP Development

Following completion of the roadmap, Balance Interactive helped IYF develop a request for proposal to identify the best vendor to support current and anticipated needs. Balance Interactive reviewed and evaluated all proposals and participated in presentations by the finalists.
