Balance Interactive Launches Cultural Tourism DC Website

June 17, 2010

Balance Interactive has launched a new website for Cultural Tourism DC at http://www.CulturalTourismDC.org/

The project created a new website to represent authentic Washington, DC. It is the ultimate insider’s guide to the nation’s capital. Residents and visitors can use the site to  plan trips and activities.

The website uses the Drupal content management system. The new design, developed by Balance designers, reflects the Cultural Tourism DC brand. Features include an itinerary planning tool that will allow users to add events and attractions to a personal trip itinerary. A shopping cart system streamlines purchases such as books and trail guides with membership dues and donations. The integrated search allows users to search events, members, keywords and tags, and an African American Heritage Trail, Washington, DC database.

“The redesigned website has proven to be a vital tool for both visitors to DC, residents and our members,” said Executive Director Linda Harper. “The website has become a key resource for anyone looking for what’s happening in DC.”

Cultural Tourism DC develops programs that celebrate Washington, DC, neighborhood by neighborhood, though an independent coalition of more than 230 culture, heritage, and community-based organizations. Cultural Tourism DC works to link residents and visitors with Washington's authentic arts and culture.
