.NET Developer

Balance Interactive is seeking the immediate support of a .NET developer with experience in .NET content management systems, especially Ektron.

The .NET Developer will work on project teams that include a project manager, skilled designers, content developers, and programmers. The ideal candidate has a broad understanding .NET content management systems (such as DotNetNuke and Ektron), CSS, and C# or Visual Basic and can translate client requirements into appropriate configurations. This is 20-hour contract position.

Responsibilities Include

• Assist with medium to large scale website development projects
• Create elegant and efficient programming solutions that are flexible and forward-compatible
• Debug and troubleshoot issues
• Configure servers and databases
• Provide appropriate documentation both in program code and user documentation.
• Follow industry standard testing (unit and system) practices

Skills and Experience Required

• Expert programmer in the .NET environment
• Windows server setup (firewall and ssl certificate setup experience a plus)
• 2+ years as a .NET developer with a solid understanding of the framework, coding best-practices, resources and community
• Solid understanding of the web medium, and the tools and trends that are evolving it
• Expert knowledge of .NET programming, SQL server, HTML, JavaScript
• Experience with open source CMS, CRM and AMS platforms
• Capacity to multi-task, balancing multiple priorities and interruptions
• Strong attention to detail; excellent analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members
• Availability for weekday, daytime work hours
